First day of the August Break. Beautiful heirloom tomato. I love the orange skin, and the bloom of pink at the centre. It was delicious in my caprese salad with fresh basil, olive oil and buffalo mozzarella. Happy August!
Many years ago I worked for a summer as an apprentice horticulturist. That year changed my life, and I have longed to get back to garden ever since. I have long carried a dream of creating a kitchen garden, full of herbs, flowers and vegetables. I love the beauty that a garden inspires, I love how you can grow a plant and how that can extend to inspiration in a vast array of areas; cooking, art, community, activism, healing and above all meaning.
